Museum of Fine Exploring of the Arctic named after A.A. Borisov
Concept of the museum is incredibly interesting and has no analogues in the world. Museum of Fine Exploring of the Arctic is not just another picture gallery but interactive cultural, educational and arts center.
A.Borisov is the first artist to open up the Arctic. Arkhangelsk Museum of Fine Arts has at their disposal a unique collection of more then 400 of A.A. Borisov’s works. Now almost all the paintings with which A.A. Borisov triumphantly crossed Europe and America in the beginning of the 20th century are stored here.
Besides halls with Borisov works and those of his contemporaries – Kuindgi workshop mates – visitors have an opportunity to get acquainted with the art of Nenets people and historical exposition with maps of sea voyages of Borisov, Nansen, Amindsen, Sedov, Rusanov and other polar explorers.
