Pskov National museum of History Architecture and Art is one of the biggest museums in north-west of Russia. Besides architectural monuments in Pskov and environs it includes 13 branches in the region among which are the unique memorial museums of M. P. Musorgsky, S. V. Kovalevskaya, I. M. Vinogradov, Al. Altaeva (M. V. Yamschikova).
The Pskov Museum is a keeper of monumental art of Saviour’s Transfiguration Cathedral in the Mirozha monastery, frescoes of the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Virgin in Snetogorsky monastery and the Assumption of the Virgin in Meltov. Since 1986 the museum includes the flat-museum of Y.P. Spegalsky. The Administrative chamber, which is situated in the Kremlin, shows us the interior in which the military leader and deacons ruled the Pskov land in XVII century.
